Noise

Like any other resident in and around the capital, the Port of Oslo wants to be considered a good neighbour. There is a noise strategy to help us achieve just that.

In the yars leading up to 2030, we are planning an increase in imported goods of 50 per cent and a 40 per cent increase of passenger traffic. At the same time more people are moving into our city and residential areas are built closer and closer to the harbour. The new modern container terminal at Sjursøya is the most crucial point from which we need to reduce noise, because this is where most noise originate at the Port of Oslo.

The Port of Oslo has a noise strategy, which provides guidance for decisions, actions and challenges when it comes to Sjursøya's extensive building process. It looks at all the phases involved in the process, including regulation, planning, construction and in the end the actual operation of the port.

For any nearby residents, complaints can be registered in our noise form, and will be dealt with as soon as possible.
